The lab room
Our lab is located at the bottom floor of DIST, Department E, Faculty of Engineering, Genoa, and consists of 24 pc and a printer.
Each pc is a AMD Athlon(tm) 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 5800+ 3,00 GHz, 4,00 GB of RAM DDR2, 250GB HD SATA SAMSUNG, DVD Writer, Olidata monitors 19" LCD 75Hz, 1280x1024 pixels, ATI Radeon HD 3400 256MB. On each pc there are Windows Vista sp2 and Ubuntu 9.04 kernel 2.6.28.
Our network is protected by a fully redundant firewall system. Our Squid proxy server caches and logs students web accesses. It also provides a powerful Snort IDS (Intrusion Detection System) system, to prevent hackers attacks.

- by bus: 15,43 Bus Stop Via Albaro; or 17,44,45,86,87 Bus Stop Corso Gastaldi
- by train: from Brignole station, take one of the buses listed above
- by car: from Genova Nervi, take Corso Europa, turn left to Via Montezovetto, then turn right to Via Byron. You can park your car in Via Byron, Via Albaro, Via Causa or nearby.
